Do you still use the WWV, WWVH or WWVB standard time and frequency stations to check or calibrate the frequency of your ham gear?
[573 votes since 2009-11-24]
  Yes.
  No.
I use a GPS disciplined frequency source now...
  I use other methods...
  I never bother to check...
  What's WWV?

Questions Answers and Attitudes
A contributor asks, "Is it possible for someone to post a question without getting answers to questions not asked? We've all seen examples of this, followed by the predictable answer "pile up." Newbie says, "How high should I mount my G5RV? What is the best angle for the wires to slope down?" No one says, "Mount it at least 35' above the ground and drape the ends at around 20 degrees." -- Of course not. WAY too easy. Instead, comes criticism of the G5RV, SWR myths, "and you posted this in the wrong category" and let's not forget, "the no-code thing has totally screwed up this hobby." Contained in the minds of the experienced hams is a huge library of information. But the librarian would appear to be on vacation. Why don't we offer "wisdom" more intelligently?"
