Spotlight KC1JB's grab-n-go station
KC1JB's grab-n-go station Here's my station, designed to be portable for emergency use. I run a Yaesu FT-450AT and an FT-8800R 2m/440 transceiver. On commercial juice, the station is powered by an Alinco DM-330MV power supply. I use an MFJ 941E tuner between the FT-450 and the 20-meter diplole in my attic. If the AC goes out, I have two 90 amp-Hour batteries in parallel off-camera that kick in automatically through a West Mountain Radio PowerGate, into an MFJ Battery Booster, and finally to a WMR RigRunner for distribution to everything from the radios and touch-pad keyer (the metal contacts on the bottom forward edge of the right side panel) to four white-LED fixtures for lighting. Two of the LEDs are attached to the underside of the bottom shelf. It's great fun...even if it's merely sitting in its place at home in my study!
