Spotlight W6XR - Downsized retirement station
W6XR - Downsized retirement station Located right on one of Upstate NY finest trout streams is my downsized station for contest, DX and conversations. Using a Ten tec Orion II and a Icom 746 Pro with a modified TL922A I have much fun! Antennas are a C31XR (what else) a 2 el 40, 7 el on six, a 1/2 wave vertical on 80 and a Inv. L for 160 at 90 feet and below. The Orion II is a superlative as is the C31XR. The daily question is -- fly rod or the Orion II!

If you meet the fcc requirements by passing the proper exam, then you are a ham. Many yrs ago all cars had standard shift transmissions. Now they're all automatics. Times change

    Shack Showcase W7WAF & KE7FND’s Station
W7WAF & KE7FND’s Station Our station consists of Icom 756 Pro, 756ProII, 746 Pro and Kenwood TM G707 radios. A Davis Vantage Pro2 weather station and Radio Shack Pro 2053 scanner compliment the ham gear. The antenna farm consists of a Moseley CL-36 tri band, home brew 3 element 17 meter yagi, dipoles for 75,40 and 12 meters, Windom multi band wire, Gap Titan vertical and a 280ft long wire tuned with an Icom AH-4 tuner. My VHF/UHF antennas include 3 dual band ground planes, one scanner ground plane and a 2 meter Lindenblad that are all home brew and a Cushcraft 11 element yagi for 2 meter SSB work. Reliable Astron Power supplies keep everything running. Not in the photo is that collection of HT’s, mobiles, tuners, test equipment, antennas, other radios and “stuff” that over 40 years of hamming seems to generate. I’m a member of QCWA and my wife and I are both members of ARRL and our local Coos County Radio Club.
