PRESS RLEASE -- FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

WRTC 2006 - Araucaria Dx Group/LABRE Announces WRTC 2006 Raffle

The World Radiosport Team Championship Organizing Committee is pleased to announce, effective immediately, the opportunity to win a free trip to Florianopolis, Brazil for "WRTC Week" which will be held July 7th - 10th, 2006. Two (2) grand prizes will be awarded (each for one (1) person) at the Contest Dinner at the Dayton Hamvention. One prize will be drawn in May 2005 and the second prize will be drawn in May 2006. Each grand prize includes the following:

o R/T Airfare in coach class on VARIG, the International airline of Brazil, to Florianopolis from any of its International gateways. Ex: US gateways include Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles, Miami, New York and Washington. Other International gateway cities can by found on the VARIG website.

o Hotel stay in the WRTC guest hotel in Florianopolis during the WRTC games (Room "extras" such as films, mini-bar, etc. are NOT included).

o A guest entry pass for (1) person to all public WRTC activities

o Free "public" meals as provided by the WRTC Organizers

The estimated value of each prize is approximately $1875USD.

Raffle chances are now available for sale at $10USD each from the following sources:

Checks may be made out to "NCDXF" in multiples of $10 with the notation "WRTC RAFFLE" to be placed in the lower left-hand corner of the check. Please be sure to include this notation to assist with our processing and accounting procedures.

Raffle chances will be entered on purchasers' behalfs by the WRTC 2006 Fundraising Committee and held in safekeeping until the drawing at the Dayton Hamvention. Your cancelled check is your receipt.

Public Sales

The WRTC 2006 Fundraising Committee and/or its various representatives will be attending a number of the major hamventions between now and July 2006 at which raffle chances will be sold, eg: Visalia, Dayton, Friedrichshaven etc. Solicitations will also be made at various other venues including DX forums, US & DX contest club meetings, etc Be on the lookout for our "Win a Free Trip to Brazil for WRTC 2006" banner when it comes to your area.......

Please note that WRTC raffle chance sales are NOT tax-deductible under US IRS tax law.

The 2006 World Radiosport Team Championship in Florianopolis, Brazil follows in the footsteps of previous WRTC competitions held in Seattle, San Francisco, Slovenia and Finland. The WRTC showcases amateur radio competition at the highest level. More than 36 two-man teams will be selected from around the world to participate in this Olympic-type event.

The games are open to everyone - competitor and spectator alike. Everyone is invited to come to Florianopolis to attend WRTC 2006 and join in on the fun!
