3B6 - AGALEGA ISLAND
A Swiss led group has provided an update on their planned October 2000
operation.
They now plan to be active with 8 stations simultaneously. There will
be 6 on HF, 1 on 6 meters and 1 on Satellite. Activity on Satellite will
be AO-10 and sporadic use of RS-12/13.
Their camp will consist of 28 tents set up between the landing strip and
small village. This massive set up requires several antennas. The
antenna layout can be seen on the 3B6 Web Page located at: <http://www.agalega2.ch>.
The team has also signed up an additional operator. Rafael, SP6TMP,
a CW operator and doctor has joined the crew. However, veteran
DXpeditioner Willy, HB9AHL had to drop out due to professional
commitments.
There is space for one more operator. If you are interested contact HB9BXE
via E-Mail: <hb9bxe@pilatusnet.ch>.
The first crew members depart September 23 with arrival on the island October
6 and first operation slated for October 8. The action continues until
October 24.
