From KH6BZF

PLEASE GIVE THIS INFORMATION THE WIDEST DESSIMINATION:

Today, at approximately 2100 UTC, the KH6WO Beacon located at BYU Laie, Oahu was upgraded adding WARC frequencies, 18.110 and 24.930 MHz, to its transmitting beacon.

KH6WO trustee, John Peters, K1ER/KH6, KH6BZF and K7IHI assisted in re-programming the Northern Calif DX Foundation controller driving a TS-50 transmitter adding these WARC frequencies to the existing beacon frequencies of 14.110, 21.150 and 28.200 MHz in Federal Communications Commission (FCC) compliance.

Both Senator Daniel K. Inouye (D) Hawai'i and Mr. Bill Cross, FCC Staffer @Washington, DC were helpful in obtaining this FCC waiver to accomplish this upgrade.

The Honolulu Amateur Radio Club (Oldest Amateur Radio Club in the islands) is the owner of KH6WO and maintains this beacon.

Reception reports are encouraged and may be sent to trustee John Peters, K1ER/KH6.

These WARC frequencies will assist other Amateur world wide as to when these bands are open to Hawai'i.

Please feel free to pass the word to others

Respectfully Submitted,
Lee R. Wical, KH6BZF
HARC Director
