Just for those non-pilots...a C-Plane as the article refers to is also, in the aviation world, known as a "seaplane".
An airplane that can take off and land on water.

This post is to Mr.John Sieger the son of MR.Jack L."Ace" Sieger.
I can tell how much you loved your father by the way you expressed your self in the article you wrote about him for the paper.
I can als tell how proud you were of him and his accomplishments.
These true heroes of WW2 are vanishing by the thousands across our beloved America.
I am glad to see you honor your father in print,to tell the world of his fine deeds.
My father was also a WW2 service man and for over 80 years I never knew that a farm boy from Louisiana had fought so far from home in the Phillipine Islands.
He told me this only months before he passed away at 91 years old with a sound mind.
That has been 2 years almost to the day and I still miss him very much.
