Special event stations are fun to operate. Many hours are needed to set up a special event station. The cards or certificates, the PR, equipment, operators, securing SE call sign(s), and more. BUT! multiply this times thirteen for four days running!
Starting July 1st and ending July 5th, The original Thirteen 1776 Colony states will be on the air. A great concept, tons of work, but well worth it. With propagation the way it has been-a challenge for all. It took over 7 months to set this SE up, now we are ready to have some fun. If you make only one QSO or all thirteen, you are eligible for the certificate, and I must say, this certificate is excellent!
Many days went into its developement and it has paid off. Every concept is involved- all different modes, mega stations, little pistols, QRO+, QRP, Legal limit, you name it, we probably will have it. Go to my call bio at QRZ.com (KU2US) for details.
I never expected the work and expense involved with doing something like this, but you know what? it was an education and it was enjoyable.
The 13 Colonies Group will do this every year-on going every 4th of July week. We expect several thousand QSO's-it will be fun for all. So call us, so we can all honor our nation, its beginning, our founding fathers and the freedom we enjoy today. Freedom is not free, others paid for it. Let us honor them this comming 4th of July week, TRULY a Special Event. 73-Ken (KU2US)

Has anyone heard K2C, K2D, K2E or K2M yet?
They haven't shown up on any of the DX clusters that I have monitored, and I haven't heard anyone coming back to them.
Haven't seen them on BPSK-31 or RTTY.
Any info appreciated.
The first 8 were fairly easy.
K2A, K2L, K2B, K2F, K2H, K2I, K2T/M and K2K have been very visible, with numerous chances to work them again on different frequencies at different times.
GA is still elusive, as he is a few hundred miles away and the bands he is working are too long for the distance.
