Ham Radio Operators Ready to Show .. Can Do:

OK. Nice coverage. But, the thought crossed my mind that some reporter asked a ham for most of the meat of the story.

What's wrong? Well, for one thing, the opportunity should have been used to mention that in order for us to maintain the skills, knowledge and ability to "be there" when needed, we have to be allowed to have home stations. Places to permanently set up our gear.

And, with CC&Rs, well, we know the story. But, we need to use EVERY opportunity to tell the public and safety officials that we must have outdoor antennas. Not Yagis, but at least wires. The more we publicize this, the more likely we will sometime gain some form of preemption for simple antennas.

Too important to just not be mentioned.
