Did You Know? ARRL Sweepstakes:

The ARRL November Sweepstakes was once called "The January Contest." First held in 1930, the first running of what we know of today as ARRL Sweepstakes, last two weeks. J. F. Feely, W1ADW, of Danbury, Connecticut, came in first place with 153 contacts in 43 Sections, giving him a score of 13,158 points.
