Another community with foresight enough to be prepared for the worst. We will see many, many more drills like this across the nation. I think it is great! Government thinking about the needs of the people in a disaster, first.

We need to thank the FCC for these great rule changes, rulings and waivers that allow ham radio to be used to its fullest potential in an emergency.

Great example of government appreciation of amateur participation. And not what the FCC is worried about. Hams getting paid as public safety folk and using amateur radio on the job.

There were a couple of folks down in Bradenton, FL that did just that a few years back. One or two were sheriff's deputies and used the county command post and were in uniform on Field Day, I think it was. Nice. Getting paid for Field Day.

Since this was Maine, where was our buddy Glenn, K1MAN? He's supposedly quite a disaster hound. At least as far as tee shirts and caps are concerned.

Probably too busy broadcasting to be aware of this....

At least we can hear his ham station.

I suppose so. I wouldn't want to pay his power bill.

My signal is only 2 s-units below his with my Icom 703+. Charge the battery at night when its smart grid friendly.

SDY- if you spent less time trolling and more time selling your orange vest service around the Florida trailer parks, you'd feel better about emcomm.

Another old ham voice of the past, rather than leadership for future.

He is calling me a troll while the rest of us are still trying to figure out what his rambling post, with no point, means. I guess he just doesn't like change. No one ever taught him change is inevitable. We learn that in elementary school in Florida.
