The title of the article is misleading to say the least. No amateur radio equipment was used...not even a VHF/UHF HT. The author brought along a Grundig shortwave radio and a Uniden scanner. In addition, there was no mention of any amateur radio signals received. The author only mentions listening to some beacons and some AM DX.

I stand corrected...he did listen to some repeater activity on his scanner. But it was only in passing at the end of the article.

Misleading title. What does this have to do with ham radio?

Love the comments. Nothing like people getting free entertainment and then bitching about it LOL

Didn't you just do the same thing with your comment?

Not exactly. It was a story about a guy listening to radio from a hotel. The fact that the author inserted the word amateur in the title hardly matters to me, but the fact that it gets some peoples panties in a knot only increases the value of the free entertainment in my estimation.
