Well, "NNN Zero Echo Kilo Bravo" is not an amateur call. Try NAVY MARS. He didn't mention any NAVMARS folks assigned to the USNS Comfort or a direct connection of MARS of any flavor into and out of the area. Well, they probably have sufficient communications capability already on the Comfort. Also, nice shot of the NAVY MARS net frequency on the radio, 13.927 USB. Thought those were supposed to be "For Official Use Only."

As to going there to help out, I surely hope he's followed the protocols and gotten permission in advance from the Haitian equivalent of the FCC (And, not using his MARS call). And, that goes for the folks from the University of Miami's med team as well. Very important, if he doesn't want to end up like the missionairies who rescued some orphans: in jail.

Would have been better to have had a group video of those that are going as a team......

Interesting traffic on 13.927. AFMARS (the REAL MARS) mostly, talking to aircraft and running patches.

Hey, that's what MARS is supposed to be all about. Not chasing baggage at the airport.

73.
