1,675 miles on 10 GHz! Wow! Some bodacious transequatorial ducting I'm assuming.

Wow, but not that surprising. There have been many extreme VHF/UHF tropo contacts from Spain, Portugal, Britain and Ireland to the Canary Islands and the Cape Verde islands over the last years.

Oh and 2696km is almost the same distance as Ireland to Newfoundland!
