Proposed Tower Rules Draw Criticism, Praise:

We've been through these little squabbles a thousand times a thousand times before. All the stock rule advantages and all the stock rule criticisms are dragged out and dusted off everytime, but the politically stronger prevail.

How about this thought: Ever see utility poles? You know the ones, power lines, landline phone lines, sometimes other services attached. You've seen these, right? They run through all kinds of neighborhoods from the rich to the poor, from the exclusive to the industrial zones. Are they pretty? Look at residential streets with pretty houses on them, and then, there they are, those ugly brown utility poles with an infinity of wires going everywhere. What, you are not going to campaign to get rid of all of them? Oh yes, I see, you get your house power from them, maybe you still hang on to your old wall telephone, too!

Really, what is all this play acting? Just where are the merits of these "tower rules"? The politically connected and powerful beat down the individuals with less or no power, not on merit, but just because they can. Isn't every great accomplishment an act of an individual against the collective power of the rich and politically connected?

Enough of this charade! The outcome has nothing to do with merits of the situations anywhere.

In few words, this title is misleading. In reality the title of the article is "Proposed CELL tower rules draw criticism, praise".

The article also states that there is a move to make applying for a tower LESS EXPENSIVE for amateur radio operators. It also mentions a cost of $4,000 for those applications. It also states that the courts have not been inclined to disallow towers in neighborhoods.

In other words, this article is pointing out a possible easing of the existing rules, not a tightening of them.

Abandon them to themselves.

"The existing rules...." Pah!

Get away from these kind of people.

Interact with them and you do the dance.

None of this give and take is new.

You can be the wolf or the sheep. Choose one.
