Win a Wouxun KG-UVD2 Dual-Band HT!

Is this HT FCC type accepted (or I guess they call it certified now)? If it isn't I assume it is against the regs to market or distribute these radios. A lot of folks have signed on to the ads on this page.

The search term FCC comes up empty in searches of this company's amateur and commercial gear. That to me is a big red flag.
I hope they do get type accepted for commercial use and certified for part 97. It would be great radio to steer hams who do the MARS/CAP mod so they can use their radio on illegaly on public safety frequencies.
Until they meet FCC scrutiny, I am staying away.

These have been around for the last couple of years and are made in Hong Kong. They aren't illegal to own or use on the ham bands, but can't be marketed or distributed by a US dealer...according to FCC rules. I hope this guy doesn't have a pile invested.

Well, if you would take the time to actually do the research on the FCC's certification database, you would find that a number (6 to be precise) of their radios ARE Part 90 certified.

Type Wouxon into the manufacturer field and let 'er rip.

I am not certain which part number is being given away in this instance, but Wouxon does have some high-band and UHF radios on the certification list. No 222-capable models, though.

As money-hungry as the FCC has become, you'll most likely see a Notice of Apparent Liability pretty soon if this dealer is contravening the regs!

Thank you for bring to my attention the fact I neglected to look on the certification data base. Now go there and look for the model in question and please send me that link. As far as I can see there are 6 Wouxun radios FCC certified. This isn't one of them.
