Hummm...it took a bunch of looking to find out that this 'Alamo' is in Nevada rather than Texas. It amazes me that we all think that everyone knows what we are talking about when we say "Alamo Radio Tower" - even the website doesn't say where they are located...had to look and look to find out it is in (near) Pioche, NV! Otherwise, an interesting article.

Newspapers all over the country live a small world I guess. They think "Well everyone should know which and where their Lincoln County is". Even larger daily papers do have that problem of not telling you where they are.
That tower looks like a crank up. It must be on really high ground.

A bunch of looking? Look up the radio stations callsign to find out where it is, or look up the name of the newspaper that wrote the article. Those two things don't come out to a 'whole bunch of looking.'

One thing you've got to remember is that local papers put out stories to local people, they don't put out stories to international websites like this one.

It seems you're blaming the wrong people. Instead of blaming the originating newspaper, blame the person who posted the story here--without posting the area location of the originating article. That person is just not thinking of the many who may read it WORLDWIDE.
