Microsoft ™ released Windows 8 and the Ham Radio Deluxe owners want all the users to know that the current release of Ham Radio Deluxe (5.24.26) as well as the beta 6.0 version (build 54) is compatible with Windows 8.

Rick Ruhl, W4PC, was a contractor for Microsoft from 1994 until 1999 and was a beta test site for Windows since the 1.0 release in 1985. He has continued to beta test all the versions of Windows since then. The HRD development team, led by Rick, made sure that the code was ready for the next version of Windows. Windows 8 was major consideration in the decision to upgrade the source code to the VS 2010 (and soon VS 2012) development platform.

Hams can rest assured that HRD will continue to run on machines with Windows XP SP3 to Windows 8,providing an all-around solution for logging, digital modes, radio control, rotor and more.
