The basic human desire to communicate with others will never become obsolete. That's why ham radio continues. But how does the media portray the hobby? More often than not, the hobby is represented by 'electronic preppers' waiting for the big-one, or a guy that put up a tower in his subdivision against the wishes of his neighbors.
