Doesn't Russia now have a radio station online?

Good Bye - nobody listened to that HF BS except people that were in the Soviet era.

The Voice of Russia audio is on the web and frankly, it was a little bit 'spooky' my first time listening on-line because, as compared to the same voices via short-wave, it sounded 'weird' with high-fidelity digital audio! Not a lot of fidelity in analog shortwave.

In reading more about this, at least three government media organizations have been fused into one, so who knows what will happen with the VOR web presence. As much as I hate to see any legacy station go off the air, there are so many more web users than shortwave listeners in most target nations, that it just makes financial sense to replace the mega-Watt transmitters and huge antenna arrays for a thrifty and far reaching, web presence.

Maybe some enterprising soul with a lot of money can RENT time on their transmission sites for mega-dollar contesting?? (via the web, of course. ;-)

(Short-wave)VO Russia/Radio Moscow is QRU, QRX?

I will miss the excellent classical and jazz music programs very much. It was interesting to hear the huge changes after the collapse of the Soviet Union and the more modern approach to programming. To the 8 land guy who referred to it as BS, I suspect he wouldn't be much interested in serious music or history anyway unless it was a 3 second soundbyte from one of the American 3 Stooge Networks or one of their cousins but he is an amusing fellow in any case.

VOR is foolish? I for one, appreciate others' views on what's going on in this world. I don't just automatically swallow everything the big network "news" outlets try to feed us - especially when you see that it's come out in court cases that they've all recieved public funds to publish disinformation. Journalist John Swinton's quote comes to mind:

Furthermore, it's a bit ironic but it seems these days that Russia is acting with much more morality than the US.
