"Ham radio" kept popping up. Who makes ham rigs that can broadcast onto 800 MHz or trunked systems? Whatever, I am astounded they let it go on for so long and now are clueless as to prosecution.

A Baofeng UV-5RA can transmit on that frequency.

Well they showed a 800 meg police freq. in the story on the display so I was going by that, assuming they were like most depts nowadays. Regardless they should burn him.
