Petition for Change in FCC RFI Methods:

I have created a petition which will if it gets 100,000 signatures, the administration will review it. It might actually make a difference!

It is a request to have the FCC change the way they perform enforcement for RFI problems. Currently YOU, or your assignee, have to locate the RFI source in order for a letter to go out from the FCC.

This petition requests that that be changed in a way that forces the FCC to locate the source, and once located ban it from coming back, or being imported again into the US. If you wish to sign this petition go to:

Once it gets 150 signatures, it gets placed in the open on the White House site, in a much more prominent position. This should then drive more signatures simply because more people will see it and sign.

Great Idea. This is the only way to address this issue in the long term.

The crooks in china who produce equipment that dont comply, but mark their equipment as compliant need to be stopped. The buck should stop with the importer and distributors not the end consumer.

There should be the equivalent of the lemon laws for equipment that fails to comply with EMC standards.

The best outcome is that this crap equipment not be sold at all.

The FCC needs to start throwing some heavy fines around, its the only way the chinese crooks and their importers will get the message.

Good luck with your petition. Every ham should sign it.

Thanks to all!!! In less than 50 sigs the petition will hit the main index on the site, which insures it will be seen anytime anyone does a telecom search. So only a few more to go...
