The FCC dismissed today, the renewal application filed in 2005 by Glenn Baxter, K1MAN, citing the Commission's Red Light Rule. A copy of the letter can be seen at

Baxter has the opportunity to file another application but has no operating privileges until the matter is resolved to the satisfaction of the Commission.

Did K1MAN pay the FCC fine?

According to the FCC Notice of Dismissal, it seems he has not paid the fine:

"Your application could not be processed because it was redlighted by the FCC’s ULS system.

The Red Light Rule was adopted as part of the Federal Communication Commission's ongoing effort to implement the
Debt Collection Improvement Act, which providesthat the Commission check whether entities or individuals seeking
licenses or other benefits from the FCC are delinquent in debt owed to the Commission.

Anyone filing an application or seeking a benefit that is found to be delinquent in debt owed to the FCC and who fails
to pay the debt in full or make other satisfactory arrangements in a timely manner will have their application dismissed.
Because you have failed to resolve this matter timely, your application is hereby dismissed."

Well, the first door has been slammed in Baxter's face. If he pays up, though, he'll be allowed to reapply?

I hope to hell that the FCC will reject any reapplication from him--although if he goes through court, with the liberal administration now and its corrupt court system--he'll probably get his license back.

Heaven help us.

Baxter is a patriot! He's fighting that liberal administration and their Communist atheist fascist Sharia law that steals the airwaves from hard working Americans. Where's your sense of liberty and patriotism!???!! This 'merican is a hero! March on conservative soldiers, march on!

In order to have a successful society you need a plan and rules. When people don't follow the rules the majority loose out. The problems in our country today are caused by the LARGE percentage that do just whatever they please and the devil with the majority.

My post was tongue-in-cheek. There's always someone in the crowd who wants to project their outrage against liberals and fabricate scenarios in order to self-justify their skewed worldview.

The FCC's ULS record for K1MAN now shows an expiration year of 2005. I guess that means that the callsign is now available for reissue. Technically, it is way beyond the two year grace period since official expiration.

Will someone now apply for it through the vanity system so that it will be used by a club station?

Why?

K1CJS asked:

"If he pays up, though, he'll be allowed to reapply?"

The application was dismissed "without prejudice" (in the FCC's words) which means he can reapply.

It would then be up to the FCC to decide whether granting the new application for amateur license is "in the public interest".

That's the way it's supposed to work. The reality could be different.

I would expect them to routinely grant the application because it is largely an automated process. One would hope that their system would raise an alert on his name.

I have wondered, given the extreme debts of the US government, how the FCC can justify such small minded lets play law enforcement.

Miss Laura, surely is far better a lawyer the Hollingworth, who stepped in as a full time crack the whip Brown Shirt. He often penned threats without evidence and protected special persons or interests. His tenure as a nine year, high paid, bureaucrat would receive D- grades by anyone trained in law arts.

Why the FCC continues to fund foolish make work enforcements to apparently intimate, through its obvious selective application is frightening.
14.313 is full of clowns and others, in fact a pathetic circus. But, it is confined and contained there.

People often go well more than twenty minutes without a call sign and in fact the whole concept of a call sign is woefully outdated. It in fact can be used as a malicious gateway to the invasion of personal privacy!
What GS level does Smith hold? It is hard to believe her job would be a full time position!

Perhaps it's because they're tasked with enforcement of the law? (...uhhh...duhhhh...)

How much have you seen Miss Laura? There was a big announcement when she came in, and that was it. What has she been doing? Few people know because you never hear anything. You heard what Riley was doing on a monthly basis. He would even talk regularly at hamfests. Did Riley bend the rules? I'm sure he did. But Riley actually got results.

Please tell us what meds you're on. I want to make sure my doctor never prescribes them for me.
