One of the payment options allows use of a credit card. Inasmuch as credit card companies typically charge around 3% to the payee, the Treasury would get stung for over $600 if this option is used. The Commission should coordinate with the Treasury and resolve this matter. I'd hate to see someone get "reward points" for paying their fine, and have the government get taken for a ride as well.
I hope Uncle Sam has better luck collecting on this one than they have had with ex-K1MAN and a few others.

Sounds pretty cut and dried. I guess this is a good example of how it should be done. Release the NAL/FO after it's final. My congratulations to Laura Smith for doing it right.

Finally these morons are getting their due! It's quite obvious that shortly after Karol Madera signs on the air to have a QSO, the idiots like KZ8O come out of the woodwork to intentionally throw carriers on him or whoever he is communicating with! Hopefully more of these idiots will be cited and fined! Slow work on the FCCs part, however, finally enforcement actions are taking place!

I think a $22K fine will put this piece of white trash out of commission.

Why call him "white" trash instead of just trash? What does race have to do with it?

Mike has been tormenting fellow amateur operators for over a decade. In 2001 I submitted a complaint against him to Hollingsworth and to the ARRL for interference to a US Air Force station on the amateur radio service. A good friend in the FBI (the FBI has HF facilities out of Virginia) also sent a complaint. The bottom line is that he needs to find another hobby; he does not have the ability to understand respect, mutual cooperation, emergency communications, diversity or the spirit and purpose of amateur radio service. Keep in mind this is a fine he can continue to operate (see FCC document DA-14-1030A1). We all better keep an eye on him he seems to crave attention and we hams need to give it to him and his followers.

Key word "attention." That's what these freaks want. A year or two ago he tried to qrm me while I was K2I. I ignored him and he went away. I hear too many hams giving these freaks attention. Ignore them and they will qsy and try to find someone else to harass.

Why their licenses were not permanently revoked is beyond me...

You may want to familiarize yourself with the federal bureaucratic process, particularly as it involves The COMMUNICATIONS ACT and the commission.

You are dealing with a federal bureaucratic agency, which means, like any of the alphabet agencies, there are rules, regulations, and procedures which are and must be followed, with virtually no deviation from those rigid legal procedures.

Simply and briefly put, licensees have rights, and the legal process is lengthy.

I have no opinion on this case, just giving you facts. You may not like or care for K3VR and KZ8O, but they still have legal rights, as we all do.

License revocation is but one sanction available to the commission, but it is rare, and normally comes at the end of a lengthy legal process, which could take a few years.

Right now, the K3VR and KZ8O cases are in their infancy and will take many twists and turns as the cases progress through the legal process.

Hams toss around the term "license revocation" without informing themselves of the commission's legal process, much less the rights of the licensee. Instead of being a low information ham that tosses around legal terminology which you have no understanding of, how about educating yourself and becoming a high information ham?

I am fully aware of the rules, this is my personal opinion as I am sick of the nonsense that has gone on for all too long...

I agree with you on that. Race does not matter when it comes too people like that. Ones like that do not belong having a license or even being on any kind of radio. Amateur, 11M (yes I still have those and will hook one up once get myself another truck) or even all the way down too cheap little "kiddie" walkie talkies.

FYI Mike and Brian has 14 more days to pay the fine or challenge it...

Maybe his fellow QRMer's can take up a collection for him.
