Nick, N3NL, was more than just an advocate for LPFM. Nick was an advocate for removing most, if not all antenna restrictions for his fellow radio amateurs.

I had the pleasure of meeting Nick through his later work within a group called "Hams for Action," which worked independently of ARRL in its quest for truly reasonable accommodations to allow amateur antennas.

Nick was also greatly concerned about the effects of Electromagnetic Pulse (EMP) phenomena on telecommunications. Although we argued over it at times, generally, I could see where Nick was coming from.

Nick was truly someone who would not hesitate to comment on all FCC Petitions affecting amateur radio. We all owe him a great deal for his selfless efforts to protect and preserve our spectrum for its use by all.

Rest in Peace. You have done so much to help preserve what we take for granted. When I listen to a local LPFM station WLXY-LP here in central Alabama, I'll know you'll be listening from on high as well.....
