On How NCIS Maligned Amateur Radio:

I've been reading some of the chatter regarding the NCIS episode in which they incorrectly portray the amateur radio service. I thought I would make a video (vlog) and express my thoughts. This is in response to the recent episode in which the NCIS writers missed a great opportunity to discover the vibrant reality of the current amateur radio service in the United States of America.

The video is here: https://www.youtube.com/watc h?v=pIWJ7kKbxiM This is the complete version, uncut, of this video in which I discuss the differences between CB and the Amateur Radio Service.

The previous version of the video was prematurely cut short by just over three minutes.  This version includes that ending.  I also remove some of the low-end rumblings from the vehicle.  This version should sound a little bit less annoying.  Hopefully, the quality of the video is sharper, as well.  This version was edited by Adobe Premiere CC 2017.

In this video, I use my new headset mic to make the video. If you have a few moments, please check it out, and let me know how the mic sounds.

Of course, share your thoughts on the NCIS thing... thanks! I appreciate the many comments, views, and shares.  Please subscribe, too!

I appreciate anyone that takes the time to watch and mostly listen to the entire video, as by doing so you'll have a full reference for which to comment.

As you know by listening all the way through, I do not malign CB radio. I'm reporting that there are hams that feel that the writers of the episode of NCIS sorely misunderstand the current and historic nature of amateur radio. They get ham radio mixed in with CB, but they do not even get CB correct!

All my comments are here to highlight the facts, not to make any judgment or to whine about the show. I enjoyed the NCIS episode, and I am a fan of the show. But, I understand those people who are not happy with the way they are portrayed in this episode.

Again, I appreciate that you watched the entire vlog video, and made these comments only after considering all of my comments. Thank you!

As a reminder, you can skip right to where I begin sharing the facts about ham radio, here:

Please share with non-radio friends. Maybe this video will inspire just a little bit more interest in this radio hobby.

"share your thoughts on the NCIS thing"

There is no NCIS THING! Only a lot of jaw action about NOTHING!
