From the Space Environment Center:

Today in Space -- 17 May 2000

Here Comes the Sun (again): At 0902 UT on May 15, a full halo coronal mass
ejection (CME) erupted from active region 9002 (see the 330 kB SOHO
coronagraph animation).

The NOAA Space Environment Center estimates a 20%
chance of minor geomagnetic storming at mid-latitudes when material from
the eruption passes our planet on May 17 or 18.
