The following article came out of the most recent issue of "Electric Co-op TODAY". I believe the article continues to paint the picture that BPL is not a done deal. The promise for BPL was to be able to provide high-speed access to the rural areas of our country. Many electric providers are still skeptical of this promise. In my opinion, the urban areas are best served by cable, DSL not the high speed promised by BPL over the clunky (not a scientific term but one that is descriptive of our present high voltage distribution systems across the country) power distribution circuits. I have been in the power distribution business for 34 years.
