HF Radios

Kenwood TS-930 SAT SN:5xxxxxxx - Sold!

Up for sale is a TS -930SAT . SN 5xxxxxx
Price: $450 OBO or Trade for a HF Amp in the 400-600Watt range, added cash is a possibility. Pictures on request.
Cosmetic:
Face, knobs and switches are very nice I would rate an easy 8+. The case has some scratches and I would say a 6+ to 7. Overall VERY nice for a 20 year old rig. No rust or broken pieces.
Mechanical:
All dials and controls operate as they should. Puts out full rated power and Tuner works well and has had excellent on air reports.
The Rig seems to work just fine with the exception of the following:
The 20db attenuation setting does not work, 10 and 30 are fine. Dirty switch maybe?
There is a midrange hum in the receive audio circuit. I truly believe that the hum in isolated to the receive audio amp due the praise I get for the quality of the transmitted audio. I purchased this item used and in good order but it appears that the item was damaged during shipping. The inner packaging was damaged and I have fought a losing battle with UPS to get a claim settled.
During the battle with UPS I purchased a FT950. I don’t have room for the both rigs and hope to recoup some of my losses. I have spoken to both Land Air and B&B Com and they both thought they could fix it for a reasonable sum. If you have strong knowledge of this model it may be an easy fix for you or it would make an outstanding parts rig which would be a real shame. Buy it for the right price and have it repaired for a REALLY nice front line or backup rig.
I have the original owner’s manual and an excellent copy of the service manual along with the original box and what’s left of the Styrofoam after UPS got finished with it.
Shipping: Unit is heavy and will require a lot of bubble wrap and packing to ship safely. I would estimate 50 lbs +/- packed shipping weight. I will ship for actual cost via any carrier you wish on your dime and I will double box the unit and safely pack it at my cost. Local pick-up and inspection is available in the Denver Colorado area and I will be willing to meet you along the Front Range for sale.
Payment: I will except almost any form of payment however all personal checks must clear my bank prior to shipping. (10 business days +/-). I will accept PayPay if you are willing to split the fee. Cashier’s checks and money orders will get shipment within 48 hours.
