Island QTH in the Florida Keys - SALE PENDING - Sold!

Island QTH in the Florida Keys for sale. New price is $875K.

Independently appraised at $850K on 4-16-09. Price is now $875K after being listed with agent on 5/8/09.

A good location for swimming, fishing, scuba diving, snorkeling, power boating, sailing, kayaking and ham radio. Great propagation. Most of the advantages of living in the Caribbean without many of the disadvantages. 90 minutes from the Miami International Airport. Located on Plantation Key - an island approximately 5 miles long and a half mile wide.

Site is at the junction of 2 salt water canals about 400 yards and just a few minutes by boat away from beautiful Florida Bay. Approximately 140 feet of dock frontage on salt water canals with large copper ground plates for verticals and slopers installed. Extremely well-guyed (with Phillystran) 50 foot tower with an 8 element log periodic on top. 10,000 pound cradle boat lift plus two davits capable of lifting a 5000 pound boat.

House has recently been remodeled and has approximately 780 square feet of enclosed space on the ground floor plus a large (approximately 880 square feet) covered carport. On the second floor (main living area of approximately 1600 square feet) there are 3 bedrooms, 2 baths, an open kitchen/dining/living area plus a large screened porch. The back yard has an attractive patio area covered with brick pavers, as is the front driveway.

The ham shack (approximately 240 square feet) occupies the third floor A-frame section. 220 v.a.c. is available in the shack which has a good view of the canals and of the northern part of Plantation Key. A recently rebuilt 8 by 10 storage and workshop shed with electricity is on the property. The house has a new metal roof plus new alumunum accordion storm shutters on the windows. The attic is well insulated and the central air conditioner has recently been replaced.

In the past verticals have been mounted on the dock over salt water for 160 thru 30 meters. They worked quite well. The LP on the tower is a Tennedyne T-8.

My wife and I hope to relocate up the coast in an "over 55" community in order to be closer to our grandchildren.
