100' self supporting tower
Self supporting 100 foot tower with
telescoping top section and safety work
platform. This is a home built windmill
tower located in Rhode Island. I have worked
with the owner on this project over the years
and can speak for the tower's robustness.
Construction is of painted angle steel bolted
together, four 3 by 1/4 inch angle steel legs
with a base spread of about 16 feet. All steel
is in excellent shape. Top section telescopes
up and down in order to work on top
mounted parts (antennas) from the safety of
a railed work platform. The platform is at
the 85 fool level. A climbing ladder is built
into the tower design. I would estimate that
the top section when extended could easily
support 30 sq. feet of wind loading (a very
large antenna). Total weight of the tower is
near 24,000 lbs. The tower will be lying on
it's side on the ground and needs to find a
new owner. I am assisting the owner to sell
it. The buyer will be responsible for
disassembling and removing the tower.
$1500 or best offer.
