Capacitor Oil Filled 80uF 4KV GE Pyranol $75

Used GE Pyranol oil filled capacitor. P/N A45342, Catalog 14F204 which is a 80 uF 4,000 VDCW. The label provides all I know other than the dimensions which I measured.

Hi pot tested with the Hipotronics tester. I charged this one up to a bit over full voltage to ensure it works. A slow process since it holds a lot of charge and the tester faults at about 5 uA current.

It has a steel case with grey paint and is sealed against leakage of the dangerous oil. This is a rugged capacitor that you can use for a plate supply.

Size is 8" wide, 4" deep, 13 1/4" tall for the can and 15" overall with terminal studs.
This brute weighs in at about 25 lbs and has 0.8 gallon of Pyranol oil.

I bought this one from the estate of a well known ham, W6TC, Geo. Badger. (I must have missed the amp or got to the sale late...!). The images show the dirt and accumulated grime. I did not try to clean it since the last caps I cleaned ended up with the lacquer thinner taking the grey paint off. So, better to leave it for the buyer to how to get it ready for the beauty pageant.

Shipping will be UPS since I get a good corporate rate at work. We have good, thick and strong boxes for safe shipment. I will get a quote if you are interested. International shipping accepted but you must pay for a method that has tracking.

Thanks for looking. If you are interested, I am also listing a three oil filled: 4 uF at 5 KV new but oldies.
