Heathkit ID-1290 Weather Station

Heathkit ID-1290 Weather Station with barometer, wind speed and direction, indoor/outdoor temprature gauge

This is a used unit! My father assembled it in the late 70's. It was in service for 15+ years, then taken down and placed in storage for many more years.

I found it last year in his estate. I put it up and used it for the last year. Now time to pass it on, I'm not a big weather watcher!

Condition is very good for it's age. The wind cups (cups are solid with no cracks!) and direction vain are in very good condition as is the boom and end caps. Has a short cable installed, about 20 FT? Cable was cut short when it was first taken down. The Control panel is in good condition but still dusty from storage, I gave it a quick cleaning a year ago and thats been it! Trim around the bezels show wear but still look presentable. Original manual is included, shows wear but decent! Also included is 80 Plus feet of new 8 condutor wire. (might be actually closer to 100Ft but no way to measure it) No indoor temp sensor is installed!!!

Only 2 problems I have noticed with it.

The Outdoor Temp sensor is off about -15 degrees or so. Now according to the manual the temp sensor must be recalibrated when the length of cable changes. In it's original installation it had about 80ft of cable. I re installed at my home with about 20 ft of cable and never recalibrated it. Bought 80+ feet of cable to redo it per instructions but never got around to doing it. So this issue may just be recalibration in it's final install?

Second problem One wind direction indicator on the panel does not work. Would be the South East pointer. Again acording to the manual this could be due to a burned out bulb in the panel? Or possible a bad reed switch in the indicator cup on the vain, or it could just have a broken wire in the boom due to age? I used it like it was, and was eventually going to install it on my tower with the new cable and recalibrate it and look at the problem with the indicator. Never got around to it and really have no desire to do so now. Would like to trade for one of the following: Kenwood TS-430S parts rig, Kenwood SP-930/940 Speaker, Heathkit 2040 Tuner, could add a few $$ on this one. Or ?? what you got?
