HF Radios

SOLD - Yaesu FT-857D

Yaesu FT-857D plus many extras

Yaesu FT-857D in pristine condition. It has been only ever used indoors in a non-smoking
household. It has never been mounted in a vehicle. I have used it exclusively for PSK-31
and the power has never been set higher than 25 watts. It was placed on a table with a
computer and that is where it has stayed.

MH-31 Hand Mic - Never used. Never connected to the radio. The radio was only ever used
for PSK-31.

Mobile mounting bracket - still in its original bag with original mounting hardware.

Original power cable - I have added banana plugs to the end to match with my power
supply. The original bagged spare fuses are included.

SO-239 to female BNC adapter - I purchased this for the 2m/440 antenna connection but
never actually used the 2m/440 capabilities of the radio.

YSK-857 Separation Kit - Yaesu separation kit to mount the head in a vehicle and conceal the
body elsewhere. Has never been used or even opened as the radio was never used in a mobile
environment.

Original box

Original warranty card - Warranty card was never filled out and sent in.

This radio requires nothing extra for data modes other than a computer. You don't need a
RigBlaster or other connecting device. It will directly connect to a computer. I am including
the following:

CAT control cable - USB CAT control cable for the radio to control the radio functions.

Output audio interface cable - direct connect cable from the back of the radio to the
computer for the transmitting audio.

Input audio cable - direct connect cable from the back of the radio to the computer for the
receiving audio.

There is nothing wrong at all with this radio. It has served me well. I have been wanting to get
a Software Defined Radio (SDR) for quite some time because of all of the computer-based
operation I do. It only made sense for me to eliminate the extra features I never use on the
radio. Frankly, I need to look at the manual any time I need to change something on the radio
itself because I never use the controls on the radio face. I've probably only ever touched the
controls a handful of times in the initial setup and never since. As a result of this, I've decided
to buy an Elecraft radio to have direct SDR access to a a radio. I've been a Yaesu loyalist for
decades but the price and features of the Elecraft make it my new choice and I will be
putting in my order as soon as this radio is sold. Oddly enough, after 33 years licensed I've
only ever done SSB Phone at Field Day events. I've just upgraded to Extra Class and I think it's
finally time for me to expand my horizons and try other modes and (gasp) maybe even Phone.

This radio has been cared for and I hope anyone who gets it will like it as much as I have.

Thank you for taking a look at this radio. It is appreciated. If you have any questions, please
