Hello i am high school student Bradley from QLD Australia and have a developed a high interest in vintage electronics, Ham radio equipment has most especially captured my interest and have caught the bug early, but i am not interested in the new stuff. i would love to run a vintage ham station with equipment i would soon like to learn to run and repair. My only problem is being here in Australia, the radios just aren't as readily available and posting most of these heavy "Boatanchors" cost more then the rig is worth to post it. So for those who are in Australia who are looking to sell their old receivers, transmitters and amplifiers i would love to here from you.
some of the brands i am more after would be:
-COLLINS, probably my most desired brand, for those who know their old radios they would know Collins is the high end of boatanchors. i am interested in all of the Collins range from the early KW-1 to the later s-line. i have been lucky enough to acquire a 51-j4 so am on the lookout for i nice transmitter to go with.
-CENTRAL ELECTRONICS, i have seemed to have fallen love with the CE 100v and 200v just after reading about them, the possibility of buying one popped up but being in USA it is going to cost 900 to post and it just isn't worth it.
also would look into Hammarlund, Drake, and honestly i will look into any nice old ham equipment. if you think you might have something contact me on my email email@example.com thanks
