Palomar 90A Amplifier

Palomar 90A Amplifier for sale, am quitting the hobby and selling all my stuff. This is an old tube amp, uses 2 6LF6 tubes, self-contained power supply, uses 120v AC 3A. Auto RF detect does not require any connection to your transmitter other that “in from transmitter” and “out to antenna”. Low QRP input power of up to 8 watts, according to the input/output chart in the manual at 8 watt input should put out 160 watts in the “Hi” position or 100 watts in the low position. I was using it on my Flex 1500 which puts out only 5 watts, so with that input I was getting 52 watts out on “Low” and 128 watts on “Hi”, which the chart shows should have been 55 Low position and 134 in Hi position, pretty close to “Book”. That is feeding a 40m loop antenna through a MFJ 949E tuner. It’s in excellent condition, doesn’t look like a 30 year old amp, well cared for. A cooling fan was added, which runs quiet. Filtered output on 40, 20, 15 and 10 meters. I didn’t use it very much since the Flex 1500 is so much fun with the QRP 5 watt output. The original manual is included, it is a very complete manual with wiring diagrams, voltage readings at almost all points in the circuits, photos of boards to locate components, in/out chart for wattage, parts list, and enough information to get it repaired should it malfunction. I used it on the 20m band ocassionally, the only thing that I know of that does not work is the realtive output meter on the front panel, I never used it anywan. It also has a built in receiver preamp, which I never used. For more information email me at hidalgos@suddenlinkmail.com. I can send you much larger and clearer photos of the unit and answer questions. Can pick it up if you’re close to central Louisiana. I can ship to any U.S. address for actual shipping (weighs about 20 pounds). Can also take PayPal. Price $160.
