Towers & Access

c-71-62-135-33.hsd1.va.comcast.net

Alumatower T50-XHD - Sold!

For sale is my Alumatower T50-XHD
tilt/crank-up aluminum tower (new $4,590 +
crating and shipping) with M2 Orion 2800
antenna positioner ($1,500 new), mast,
Yaesu thrust bearing, controller cable, Green
Heron RT-21 rotator control ($570 new), and
Alumatower MP-2D in-ground mounting pole
($1,089 new) and Dewalt high power drill
which raises the antennas from 25 to 50 feet
in about a minute. This setup was installed in
1/2010 and It is quite simply amazing. The
mounting pole is installed - NO CONCRETE -
six feet into the ground. Metal "fans" stabilize
it in the ground using only dirt. Rent an
auger with a 12" bit and dig a hole, mount
the pole, fill the dirt back in, water it and let
firm up for maybe a few weeks before putting
any windload on it. It has withstood 60+ mph
winds and barely moves. I have not used any
guys but brackets are installed on the tower.
It tilts over for easy antenna mounting and
service; lower for a storm etc. It currently is
supporting two Optibeam antennas: an OB 9-
5 and OB 2-40 40M beam. Short of having a
huge field with 120' towers, this assembly is
the best. This is not an inexpensive setup but
could be the only one you ever need. I really
get out and rarely use my amp. Prefer to sell
the entire package but will consider parting
out if someone first wants the tower only. I
will sell the entire package..antennas, about
125' coax for each antenna, accessories etc
for $8500 (pic shows a 40M rotatable dipole but OB 2-40 is what is there now). Without
antennas, everything was about $8,000 new
plus shipping; I am asking $6,000. Purchaser
responsible for taking delivery/pickup but
will assist in any way I can. No trades. Split
Paypal I am preparing to move,
disassembling my shack and having a big
sale. Check out my other items as I post
them. Also, you can check out my shack pics
on QRZ.com - virtually everything you see
there will be for sale. It is ALL in excellent
condition, purchased since 2010; non-
smoker. Major items: ACOM 2000A linear,
ICOM IC-7700; Elecraft K3 with every
option/filters and Panadapter; Optibeam OB
9-5 and OB 2-40; Alumatower T50-XHD
tilt/telescoping tower with in-ground
mounting pole, M2 Orion 2800 antenna
positioner, Green Heron rotator control,
mast; full W2IHY suite; TE Systems 1450 GS
2m amp; tons of cables, connectors, stuff. I
had the luxury of purchasing what I thought
was the best equipment around, loved
assembling the shack, but really not using it
and downsizing. I am only occasionally on
the radio - not at all in the last few months,
and not a contester. I would be willing to
discuss a shack clean-out package price. Will
consider reasonable offers on all items.
Please advise if you need pics but everything
is as seen on manufacturer's websites. 100%
feedback on ebay: seal2cc
