Alumatower T50-XHD - Sold!

SOLD pending funds. For sale is my Alumatower T50-XHD tilt/crank-up aluminum tower
(new $4,590 +
crating and shipping) with M2 Orion 2800 antenna positioner ($1,500
new), mast, Yaesu thrust bearing, controller cable, Green Heron RT-21 rotator control
($570 new), and Alumatower MP-2D in-ground mounting pole ($1,089 new) and Dewalt
high power drill which
raises the antennas from 25 to 50 feet in about a minute. This setup
was installed in 1/2010 and It is quite simply amazing. The mounting pole is installed -
NO CONCRETE - six feet into the ground. Metal "fans" stabilize it in the ground using only
dirt. Rent an auger
with a 12" bit and dig a hole, mount the pole, fill the dirt back in,
water it and let firm up for maybe a few weeks before putting any windload on it. It has
withstood 60+ mph winds and barely moves. I have not used any guys but brackets are
installed on the tower.
It tilts over for easy antenna mounting and service; lower for a storm
etc. Pad and eave mounts are included. I was able to install and dismantle the tower
assembly with the help of my two sons - two reasonably strong people can pick up and
transport the tower; I was
able to mount the antennas while the tower was tilted BY MYSELF. Tilting, raising/lowering
and servicing
of antennas IS A ONE MAN JOB. Check out Alumatower.com. It was supporting two
Optibeam antennas: an OB 9- 5 (for sale) and OB 2-40 40M beam (sold). Short of having a
huge field with 120'
towers, this assembly is the best. This is not an inexpensive setup but
could be the only one you ever need. I really get out and rarely use my amp. Prefer to sell
the entire package (not including antennas) but will consider parting out if someone first
wants the tower
only. Without antennas, everything was about $8,000 new plus shipping;
I am asking $6,000 for the tower/rotor/controller/mast/drill/ground mount assembly. I
will sell the entire package..INCLUDING OB 9-5 antenna with balun, about 125' coax,
accessories etc for
$7000 (pic shows a Cushcraft 40M rotatable dipole with QST
enhancements, which I would include). More pics available. I would be happy to discuss
this wonderful collection of equipment with anyone seriously interested. Purchaser
responsible for taking
delivery/pickup but will assist in any way I can. No trades. Split Paypal I am
preparing to move, disassembling my shack and having a big sale. Check out my other
items.
