Entry level HF Radio

We would greatly appreciate the donation of or deeply discounted
price on an entry level HF transceiver for our volunteer fire
department. I say entry level so as to keep operation simple and
reduce issues with too deeply nested menu items. Iím not an
electronic technician anymore so something of a late hybrid to solid
state unit would be best from a reliability/maintenance standpoint.

I have a General license and two of our members are Technician
licensed. Two more of our members are studying for their Technician
license. We are a small rural Nevada VFD with a membership of 15
active volunteer (totally unpaid) responders serving an immediate
community of 400 homes.

I would like to set up an NVIS antenna (half-wave dipole for 40
meters) at our station for use in regional EMCOMM and to encourage my
other members, and hopefully community residents, to get their
ham licenses. We currently have a single VHF repeater that links us
to our dispatch center in Reno, NV via a mobile unit installed in the
station.
