Yaesu FT 1000mp Mark V - Parts Radio

This was an acquired Mark V Radio.
I sent it to Byron, WA4GEG,
Electronic Equipment Service, to be
checked out. The 50 volt rated SMT
decoupling capacitors bypassing the
30 volt INPUT on the REG Unit are
fried, apparently from an ESD spike
(lightning spike) to the FP-29.
From there the spike traveled the
+9 volt regulated line to all the
other boards served by +9 rail
causing even further damage. The
CNTL Unit board for one, shows
multiple components damaged and or
injured including the main control
IC chip. He declared it a “Parts
Rig”. I do not own a Mark V, so I
don’t need it. It is offered for
$350 and buyer pays shipping. The
radio doubled boxed is $80+- to
ship. Pictures sent on request.
Radio is sold "not working", in "as
is" condition.
