Henry 2K-Classic-X

$2000.00 OBO (please scroll to see the pics at the bottom)

Up for sale is a Henry 2K-Classic-X amp.
I've used this amp nightly for the past few years and it never fails to put out GREAT power dependably. It uses two 3-500Z tubes and covers 10 though 80 meters, with good match via tuned input circuit. These amp are MIL_SPEC quality, and there really is nothing on the market even today that matches the robust build quality of a henry. Some other amps may do the same power or more.....with a smaller footprint..... but the quality, longevity and durability of a Henry cannot be matched.

This henry has the nicer Eimac air-flow sockets in the RF deck, and is VERY clean inside. The silver plated components are bright and corrosion free, and the roller inductor tunes smoothly and without a hitch. 3600 VDC on the plate, which sags to 3200 VDC full load at 200ma +/- 20 ma will give 1350 W output. It does this with no groans or moans, no transformer hum and no problems. These units are rated for CCS duty cycle and they will perform in such a fashion.

This unit has the large 16uf oil cap filter rated at 7KV, and the larger 1.2A CCS rated filter choke. The same choke used all the way up to the Henry 5K amplifiers. It has been loved and taken very good care of, consisting of periodic cleanings and removal of dust bunnies that will accumulate due to the rather LARGE blower mounted under the RF deck.

I am using the proceeds from this sale to buy another Henry, slightly bigger, otherwise I would just assume to keep it. This is a very fine, very functional and VERY dependable amplifier that need no work and will serve you well for many years.

This amp, I was told, is of the last years that Henry made them around the mid to late 90's.

It will be Pick-up or you pay for shipping costs. If you would like it shipped, I can break it down into three to four boxes, but you must have the expertise to put the RF deck back in and the transformers installed and wired back up.

For shipping (that you will pay for), the boxes will contain as follows.

Box 1. Tubes and chimneys
Box 2. Plate transformer and filter choke
Box 3. Upper RF deck and upper sheet metal assembly
Box 4. Lower power supply deck

Doing it this way, I should be able to stay within the 75lb weight limit of our carrier and all should arrive safely. You will need to cover the costs of Boxes, and packing material, I will cover the labor. Included will be a flash drive chocked full of pictures, owners manual and a quick reference of landing of the transformer wires. This will be a valiant effort on my part, but it can be done successfully I am sure.

That being said, I would rather you pull up to my QTH with a strong back (I will help load) and wisk it away in one piece.

Please feel free to email or text, if you have any questions @ 270-844-3199
My call is KI4THX and my name is Ernest. Location of the amp is Henderson KY and my Email is KI4THX@yahoo.com.
