National HRO receiver

FOR SALE: National HRO receiver with serial number X-199 (1938). It is in very good condition mechanically and electrically for a 77-year-old radio. The four standard plug-in coils have the same serial number as the receiver, and they come with the National coil case. The 10-inch National speaker case is in fine condition, but the speaker will have to be replaced. (I use the 3 communications speaker shown in the photo). The power supply case (Velvet AB - 5897AB) is the one that came with the receiver, but the supply itself is a later model 697 (1946?). I made the switch because the original transformer seemed to me to be running very hot.
The S-meter is intermittent, but everything else seems to work. The receiver may benefit from an alignment. I have the full set of the original 2.5-volt tubes and some new 6.5-volt replacement tubes, which may be purchased by the buyer. The receiver is being sold as-is due to its age.
Asking $650, pick-up only, because it is too heavy for me to wrestle with. It may be the nicest HRO of that vintage available. Please email questions to K1CM a t ARRL d o t net.
