HF Amplifiers

Signal Corps AM-8D/TRA-1

This amplifier can run on either 6 meters or 2 meters, depending on the value of an additional capacitor installed across the tank coil, instructions for this are included, and can also be found in the March 1973 issue of '73 magazine. The original instructions, schematics etc. are included. The amplifier measures 17" W, 11" H, 13" D and weighs 43 lbs. It comes with a power supply cabinet that appears to be homebrewed, the cabinet measures 22" W, 30" H, 15" D and weighs 128 lbs. It's currently set up for 6 meters, I have tested this amplifier at 51.1 MHz and obtained 250 - 300 watts of RF output with 4-5 watts of drive. I can send additional photos on request. Asking $250.00. Local pickup only.
