Towers & Access

Rohn 55G - 140 foot rotating tower and antennas

Over $35,000 worth of tower and antennas.
Put this up in 1989 and it still works like a
charm. Worked all countries and achieved
many winning contest scores over the years.

Health issues are causing me to have it taken
down and I'd love to find a new home for it.

The entire package includes the main tower,
the RTS rotating ring system, all antennas
(list below) all coax and guys, as well as six
additional big yagis being stored under the

The main tower consists of 14 sections of
Rohn 55G being turned by RTS55 ring
Rotating section is at base (Telrex rotator
with new Leeson motor) and there are 3 rings
(40', 80', 120').

Top section includes another rotator (Yaesu
G-2800SDX) turning a 20 foot mast with 80M
KLM rotary dipole ( at 155') and some
VHF/UHF antennas.

Antennas on the tower include:
KLM 80M/1 (92' long) at 155'
KLM 40M/3 (32' boom - modified for wind
resistance) at 135'
KLM 20M/6 (57' boom) at 125'
DXE 15M/4 (27' boom) at 95'
M2 10M/4 (24' boom) at 85'
KT34XA (32' boom) at 45' (on TIC ring rotor)
Force 12 XR5 at 30'

In addition to the big Telrex rotor that turns
the tower, these additional rotors are on the
TIC Model 2001 ring rotator with digital
controller ( turns KT34XA at 45 feet)
Yaesu G-2800SDX rotor in top section
turning 20' mast with 80m antenna and
Yaesu G-500A elevation rotor handles
VHF/UHF antennas

Extra small prop pitch motor in the garage
also included

Tower is guyed with Phillystran (old style) and
some steel.
Tons of coax, including RG218 super low loss
runs going to VHF/UHF yagis.

Also on the tower are two DX Engineering
relay boxes for phasing yagis. I've got control
boxes in the shack.

Top Ten Devices six antenna remote switch
under house handles automatic band
switching. Control box in shack.

Here's the additional yagis I will include with
this package. Some of these were up on the
tower. Others I bought but never put up. I
have manuals for some of them.

M2 4 ele 10 meter 24' boom (used on the
tower for awhile with Upper/Lower/Both
phasing switch)
DXE 4 ele 15 meter 27' boom (same as
above....formerly on tower and phased with
2nd one)
KLM 4 ele 40 meter 42' boom
KLM (?) 5 ele 20 meter 46' boom (not sure if
this KLM or not)
KLM 6 ele 15 meter 37' boom (this was up on
the tower for several years and is amazing!)
KLM (?) 6 ele 15 meter (light duty with 2" x
28' boom)

The tower is being taken down professionally
in late June, early July of 2015. You can see
it and/or try it before then.

Priced for pickup in Northern California.
Would consider shipping if arranged and paid
by buyer.

See photo to appreciate what a fantastic
setup this is!
