Price Reduction***Johnson Kilowatt Transmitter

I've decided it's time to let my Johnson Kilowatt transmitter go to a new home. It's been in my possession for many years, but has not been used for some time. Several years ago, I ran the West Coast AM net for a short time and I used this transmitter. It is in very good condition, with the usual scrapes and scratches, but nothing major. This unit comes with the optional desk attachment. Somewhere along the way, a previous owner put a glass cover on the desktop. This was actually a good idea because the desktop material is somewhat soft and prone to dent easily. The glass protects the top and gives a smoother working surface. To the best of my knowledge, the amplifier is all original. There may be some changed parts, but nothing obvious to me. I also believe all of the magnetics (transformers & chokes) are original. The serial number is around 450 if I recall correctly. That's not the exact number, but it's close. When last used, the transmitter was working properly but that was several years ago. It has been stored inside my house the entire time that I've owned the unit. I hate to see this rare AM transmitter go, but I don't see that I'll be able to use it in the foreseeable future. Searching around the internet, I have not found any currently for sale, so I know there aren't too many available. I'm asking $2500 for the transmitter. It is located in Orange Co, Southern California. Shipping a unit this heavy is going to be difficult, so I would obviously prefer a local pickup. I can do some assisting with shipment if the buyer makes the arraignments with a shipper in advance. The unit is currently upstairs in my house, so just getting it downstairs is going to be a challenge for me. Photos, via email, if requested. I prefer paypal. Let me know if you have any questions.

73,
Jim
