mildly desirous of a 4-65 and socket

I bought a DX35. It's been a CB
amp. The original tank coil is
gone. Holes were drilled in the
cabinet to let the smoke from the
transformer out, I am not kidding!
It's coated with tobacco smoke.
Tubes are gone. It was still too
cheap to pass by (the meter got
me). Rather than fix, it's not
worth buying a transformer and
6146 for a radio with a ruined
enclosure and ratty front panel, I
am imagining bad to worse. I have
a microwave oven transformer tha
conveniently matches the mounting
holes of the fried power
transformer plus a "5-7 tubes" RX
transformer. These get me 3200V at
300mils for the 4-65 and power for
the osc, buffer, and driver. The
combo is begging for an exacto
knife/paper bag stenciled DX350
nomenclature. In any event, I'm up
for a max of $35 for a known good
or NOS 4-65 and socket mailed to
my 30306 address. Les sis better
:-O

I have not forgotten the Octopus.
Just planning for April when work
will be a reasonable 40 hours/week
instead of 60.
