Sony ICF-6800W SW Receiver "Orange' Edition

For sale: Sony ICF-6800W 'Orange'
version. These were the later
units and had been improved on.
So they usually fetch up to 3x
more than the regular 6800's.
Here is a brief description of
the radio taken from the
Universal Radio site: The Sony
ICF-6800W sophisticated worldband
receiver covering AM, FM (87.5-
180 MHz) and complete shortwave
coverage 1.6-30 MHz. The radio
has both analog and digital
displays. This dual conversion,
superheterodyne circuit employs
quartz-crystal PLL synthesized
tuning and LED display (except
FM). Features include: S-Meter,
AFC, Bass & Treble, Wide/Narrow
Selectivity, Memo Lamp and BFO
for Single Side Band and Morse
code. Jacks are provided for
headphones, earphone, record
output and timer input. May be
operated from 110/120/220/240 VAC
or six D cells. Antenna jacks are
available on the rear panel (SO-
239 and terminals). The Sony ICF-
6800W with orange model printing
on the front panel indicates
later production with
improvements. Physical: 18 x 7.5
x 9.25 inches 12 Lbs. In full
working order but is a bit rough
as far as the power switch is
broken (but provided to help find
a replacement or to glue back),
the antenna tip is missing but
should be a easy fix to replace
whole antenna, and the power cord
is missing. I used it with a AC
adapter. Sold as-is for repair
but in full working order. I
believe the dial light worked
with AC power but it was not
coming on with the adapter. The
memo light is working though.
$300 plus $30 shipping in the US.
