ICOM IC-R3 Wideband Receiver w/BC-135 charging doc

SOLD.
Super wide frequency coverage 0.495–2450 MHz! With AM, FM, wide-FM and TV picture* receive capability as standard. Some frequency ranges are inhibited with some versions. * depending on picture modulation system and version. Programmable.

Working unit, solid. New units are tested to and passed the MIL-STD 810 requirements and strict environmental standards for shock (MIL C, D, E) and vibration (MIL C, D, E). Other prices: up to $540 on eBay, $400 on hobbyking, $100-200 elsewhere…

BC-135 charging dock and rechargeable LiON battery pack included. Charger works with battery only. Putting entire phone into the dock does not engage charging - some glitch. So - need to charge battery by itself. Can also take 6v DC in side receptacle for charging.

MANY features and functions. For details and specs see brochure and instruction manual - an essential reference due to the unit's complexity:

* The TV display is very nice but seems quirky and its best use seems to be for operating status, signal strength, bandscope, etc. The display does not work for newer digital or encrypted broadcast TV. May work for ATV but not tested. Setting the display mode is tricky (see manual) and goes haywire in certain bands. The color display also seems to be a power hog. I left it off or in simple display mode. The small window shows the essential information.

Has a few minor mars on the case but cosmetics are very good. Not included: case, belt clip, original antenna, manual, 6v charger, spacer for alkaline batteries. Works very well as is as a wide-band receiver.

Bonus: includes Diamond RH77CA HT antenna! Transmit on 2 meters and 440 MHz and additionally receives these bands: 120, 150, 300, 450, 800 and 900 MHz - a favorite model for scanners. Thin, flexible, black antenna 16 inches (40 cm) tall. Gain is a 2.15 dBi (440 MHz), up to 6x the performance of regular antennas. Terminates to 50 ohm BNC. $20-25 retail.

$160 plus shipping. PayPal or cash accepted.
