Towers & Access

HD military tilt-up tubular "tower" $250

This setup is military surplus and very heavy duty. It consists of a hinged, cast aluminum base section and three sections of aluminum alloy tube. The tube is quite heavy, very thick wall. This one we would assemble on the ground (I have pictures), attach the antenna and then push it up. The aluminum tube sections are the following size: bottom section is 15 long x 3-3/8 diameter x 3/16 wall, weighs 34#, middle section is 13 x 2-15/16 x 3/16 wall, weighs 26#, top section is 10 x 2-3/8 x 3/16 wall and includes a short 2 OD section for rotor attachment. It weighs 17#. The cast aluminum base weighs 45#. This one could be permanently installed but it does require guy wires. We used the guys from a military surplus mast kit but for permanent installation steel or Phillystran would be best. This one also has a large wood base that can be driven on or held down by other means such as the trailer landing gear in the additional pictures. An interesting thing about this one is that the base has three separate bottom sections, allowing any one of the sections to be attached and tilted up individually. We always used them telescoped together as one tall unit but that gives you the option of different heights. Email me for more pictures.
