YAESU FT-102 "Malcomized"

I am selling my “Malcolmized” Yaesu FT-102. I
purchased it for $400. When I got it home I was
pleased with the excellent physical condition, and
full output (greater than 180 watts) in the Tune
position. However, it did not transmit consistently
on SSB, and the receive would sometimes cut
out. I concluded that multiple relays needed to be
replaced, and sent it to Malcolm, NC4L, the
world’s foremost expert on the FT-102. He
replaced the relays and performed multiple other
repairs, updates, and modifications, amounting to
$300. (It has his sticker across the seam showing
that I have not opened it.) It has the FM board
and Malcolm’s 6kHz AM filter which sounds really
nice. The receiver and transmitter are spot-on
frequency and very stable, and I get excellent
audio reports using the MD-1 microphone, which
is included in the sale. It has a built in power
supply. Asking $700 for this amazing rig. See
web for its description and legacy. I have placed
some pictures and a video of tune-up and
performance at this link:
